The Power of Pure North Yorkshire Comfrey
Experience the traditional benefits of our Handmade Comfrey Oil, crafted with care in the heart of North Yorkshire. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, our oil is slowly infused using only high-quality Comfrey leaves (Symphytum officinale). We intentionally exclude the roots to provide a leaf-only infusion that is rich in Allantoin, the natural compound celebrated for supporting skin recovery and soothing tired muscles.
Whether you are a massage therapist, a herbalist, or looking for natural joint support, our oil offers a premium, artisanal solution.
Why Choose Our Handmade Comfrey Oil?
- Leaf-Only Infusion: We use only the vibrant green leaves, ensuring a potent but balanced oil.
- Artesian Process: Small-batch production, handmade from start to finish.
- North Yorkshire Heritage: Sourced and bottled in the UK, supporting local craft.
- 100% Natural: No synthetic fragrances, parabens, or additives.
How to Use Comfrey Oil
Comfrey has been known for centuries as "Knitbone." Our oil is perfect for:
- Soothing Skin: Apply to minor skin irritations to support natural healing.
- Muscle & Joint Care: Gently massage into areas of discomfort after physical activity.
- Base for Salves: An ideal, high-quality base for creating your own DIY balms and creams.
What is the difference between Comfrey Leaf and Root oil?
While both contain Allantoin, leaf-only infusions are generally preferred for regular, long-term topical use. Using only the leaves ensures a high-quality, potent oil that is easy for the skin to absorb without the higher concentrations of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) found in the roots.
Where is your Comfrey Oil made?
Our oil is 100% handmade in North Yorkshire. We harvest and infuse the oil in small batches to ensure the highest quality and freshness, maintaining the traditional British apothecary standards.
Can I use Comfrey Oil on broken skin?
No. Comfrey is so effective at supporting cell regrowth that it should only be used on closed skin. Using it on deep or broken wounds could cause the surface to heal too quickly before the underlying tissue has had time to recover. Note: For external use only. Do not apply to broken skin or open wounds.
How should I store my Comfrey Oil?
To preserve the potency of the leaf infusion, store your bottle in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Our bottles are designed to protect the oil, but keeping them in a cupboard will extend their shelf life.
